Ciaran is a Cork based Sport Scientist originally from nearby Limerick City. Academically, he received a First Class B.Sc. in Sport and Exercise Sciences from the University of Limerick in 2012 and is also a published researcher who will be embarking upon a Professional Doctorate in 2019 orientated around training planning. Athletically, he was a long-term competitor in combatives with Boxing and K1 Kickboxing being his primary interests. Hobby wise, he claims to enjoy studying psychology and philosophy “way above” his “intellectual pay grade.” Professionally, he works in-person with sports teams and individuals as well as one of the coaches over at Sigma Nutrition.

Peter has a BSc in Sport and Exercise Science and MSc in Exercise Physiology from Loughborough University in the UK. He completed his PhD in 2014 through Charles Sturt University in Australia, investigating the effects of international and domestic air travel on team sport performance, sleep and recovery.
Peter has worked in the English Premier League with Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, the Department of Physiology at the Australian Institute of Sport and at several football clubs in the Australian A-League. He has also worked as a Research Scientist at Aspetar Sports Medicine Hospital in Qatar, where his research focused on developing practical interventions for athletes to minimise sleep disruption and enhance recovery following travel. Whilst at Aspetar, Peter was also a sports science consultant to a range of elite athletes, clubs and organisations from the English Premier League, Rugby Sevens World Series, Rugby League, NFL, cycling and motor racing, together with the Qatar Olympic Team and Football Association. He currently has 15 publications in international peer-reviewed sports science/medicine journals, has co-authored a book chapter and has presented at several international sports science/medicine conferences, including the prestigious IOC World Conference on the Prevention of Injury & Illness in Sport.
Peter is currently a Visiting Research Fellow at Queensland University of Technology, together with establishing his own online sports science consultancy business, The Recovery Room – specialising in the provision of personalised, evidence-based, online sleep resources to a range of clients, including athletes, businesses and schools.
Gemma is a dedicated health and safety professional with 20 year’s project experience working in the resources, not for profit and government sectors. Gemma’s interest in health and safety began when she worked at the Paraplegic Benefit Fund, witnessing first hand the devastating impact that workplace injury can have on individuals, their family and the broader community.
Gemma spent six years working for Rio Tinto Iron Ore in a strategic health and safety and contractor management capacity. She was instrumental in designing and developing systems to support and manage the health and safety of contractors, and further specialised in fitness for work policy and programs. Gemma currently supports clients across the aviation, mining, oil and gas industries to deliver effective fatigue risk management strategies to improving the health, safety and performance of employees.
Brendan Duffy is a New York based Registered Sleep Technologist and Certified Clinical Sleep Health Educator. He has conducted thousands of in-lab sleep studies on adults and children and frequently speaks at local community venues on sleep and health issues. He has written several articles on sleep topics and has a particular interest in writing and speaking about Sleep as it impacts athletes. Brendan has spoken at national events from New York to Alaska on the topic of sleep and sports performance, recovery, and training. Brendan is on the national staff of StartSchoolLater.net and serves as the non-profit’s Athletic Liaison.
